Description
Hieronymus Bosch
Hieronymus Bosch – the inventor of hybrid monsters and incredible creatures, the brightest representative of the Northern Renaissance and 15th-century Dutch painting. His personality and life remain a mystery to researchers to this day, and his paintings both horrify, astonish, and inspire viewers.
Bosch simultaneously depicts real landscapes, biblical narratives, and the world of the devil. In the lecture, we will explore the symbolism of Bosch’s work, immersing ourselves in the world of medieval people, and pondering who Bosch truly was – a devout Catholic, heretic, or prophet.
